The second of a limited series of unique wines from France and Australia matched with Chef Philippe Mouchel’s classic food and wine pairing skills; a special menu designed to feed two people.
Second in this series is a collaboration with Yarra Yarra vineyards from the Yarra Valley. It showcases their Syrah. Since Yarra Yarra’s inception, they have been dedicated to making small quantities of serious dry reds and whites in the style of the great labels of Bordeaux and Northern Rhone. The Syrah is very rich and reflects classic blackberry and spice with firm tannins. The 2015 vintage was one of the great vintages for the Yarra Valley this century. Chef Philippe has paired this wine with a whole slow roasted lamb shoulder with a Spring vegetable Navarin, and jus. A generous serving for two or more.
